Liya Mira, a Sydney-based designer and crafter, creates handmade and hand-dyed clothing from organic fabrics. Her style is  at the hippy end of the Cottagecore spectrum with the simple silhouettes acting as a platform for her natural dyeing techniques.

“Liya’s garments are made from the best quality fabric. They are good for you and the planet. You will build a long lasting friendship and want to wear them every day,” states the brand’s website.

The Liya Mira garments take about four weeks to make, and all of the colours are created from natural plants and other organic materials. Each garment is unique due to the natural and handmade nature of Mira’s process.

According to the brand’s website, “Liya spent many years studying how different fibres work with local plants to create the most sustainable method for creating her garments. Her process is completely natural and all the colours you see come straight from the plants.”

Liya Mira fabric is all certified organic, sustainable and considered to be environmentally friendly, based on plant materials. The designer has also chosen to work with fabric producers who use less water and a longer process to create the various fabrics used in her production. This consideration also takes into account ethical production, Liya only works with producers who pay their workers a proper living wage, which translates into the prices of her artisan garments.

Liya Mira is all about slow fashion. She carefully designs and sews every garment. She strongly believes in quality and style so most of the collection can be worn on any occasion and in every season.

Liya’s designs are classic and made to last, so you can slowly add to your wardrobe and layer the garments together. You simply can’t go wrong with beautiful, natural garments made with love and care.

Mira designs, cuts and sews all of the garments, making the brand part of the slow fashion movement. As the unique aspect comes from the hand-dyeing process, the pieces are designed to be worn layered for a trans-seasonal wardrobe.
