On THURSDAY 30 MAY, 2024, the fashion show REVIVAL RUNWAY IV will be held at The Third Day venue from 7:00pm, and will feature 10 amazing, independent Australian fashion brands. These are small brands created by young designers – many of them just starting out in the industry. This year there will be two brands from outside Melbourne – one from Sydney, and one from the Gold Coast.
“We feel strongly about supporting small, independent designers, particularly those who are just starting out in the industry. Both the impact of the global pandemic and the rising cost of living in Australia has made it even harder for emerging brands to make an impact and reach their audiences, which is why we feel events like REVIVAL RUNWAY IV matter,” explains Niki Bruce, the creative director for Revival Runway.
Melbourne fashion brands Tulle Addict, Fool Clothing, Mazi Melbourne, Moira Isabel, Bloodline, Wovn, Chilali and Thirty.Five, will be joined by Methods by Vassqo from Sydney, alongside 9Designs from the Gold Coast.
The brands will be featured on the runway in the Revival Runway signature two mini shows separated by a 30 minute break, and starring an inclusive cohort of fabulous volunteer models who give up their time just to help the local fashion industry. Music will be provided by popular Melbourne performer and radio personality, BIG DAMZ, the DJ with a PhD.
The majority of the brands will feature intricate handmade fabrics and garments created from upcycled fabrics and deadstock; concepts range from sexy clubwear to funky non-gendered streetwear.
Revival Runway is a non-profit volunteer organisation that produces fashion-related content and events for independent Australian fashion brands and designers. Everyone at Runway Revival gives their time, experience and energy free of charge to create professional opportunities for brands and emerging fashion industry talent. Revival Runway offers industry internships to fashion students and independent creatives giving them real life experience to add to their resumes.
