Melbourne womenswear label Project Bowman is made locally with a focus on slow fashion, alongside sustainable and ethical production, with everything being made in Brunswick.
As the website states, they make “garments for well dressed criminals” – which translates into creating clothes with a mix of “masculine energies and feminine silhouettes”.
Similar to many Melbourne fashion brands, Project Bowman is not tied to the traditional format of following the fashion calendar, and prefers to release their garments as, and when, they are ready.
The brand is operated by co-owners Amber and Bella, who are involved with everything from the designs to the distribution, and say they are “lucky to be supported by an amazing network of local makers and suppliers here in Melbourne”.
The Project Bowman aesthetic is a mix of classic fabrics with youthful shapes – think flirty silk blouses with puffed sleeves, and high-waisted wide-legged pants. Prices range from around AU$200 to $350.
