Meaningful connections and shared passion at the Metro Muse fashion show

The Metro Muse fashion show held on Sunday 25 May, was a vibrant celebration of women’s fashion and creativity, bringing together an inspiring collective of women-led fashion brands.

The event provided a platform for meaningful connections and shared passion — from independent labels established for decades to those just beginning their journey. With a focus on quality, sustainability, and originality, this runway event was a space where Melbourne women discovered, supported, and championed women-inspired fashion brands.

As part of the event, Revival Runway also launched its inaugural Artisan Market, a curated shopping experience focused on authentic Australian brands and makers. It aimed to support various segments of the fashion industry, including jewellery, headpieces, bags and other accessories. As the first market of its kind, only a limited number of carefully selected brands were featured.

The runway show presented a diverse lineup of Melbourne-based brands and designers, including outstanding established names such as OnceWas, Lisa Barron, Isadora Nim, Tara Whalley and Lucy Laurita, alongside brilliant emerging brands including Valentina Valentino, Maddeline McInnes-Smith, Pranvera, Meg Smith Makes, Yanggurdi, Ashaalia and Sofia Irina.

Alongside the runway show and Artisan Market stalls, a number of artisan designers also had their work featured in a series of fashion installations.

Niki Bruce, creative director of Revival Runway, expressed her belief in the importance of supporting independent fashion designers, creatives, and fashion students. She recognised the talent and dedication within the industry and the urgent need to provide opportunities for emerging voices to be seen and heard.

“It was essential to create spaces where new and independent designers could showcase their work, connect with the industry, and build their future,” she explained, emphasising the crucial role that Metro Muse and the Artisan Market played in supporting the local fashion industry.

Metro Muse featured Revival Runway’s signature format of two mini shows separated by a 30-minute intermission. Each of the 200 guests in attendance enjoyed the privilege of a Front Row Seat.
